The old rag doll, singin’ on a rag doll stage
Wearing a rag doll dress, stumbling in a ragdoll way
Prone to falling on her face, and other catastrophic things
Thank god for her ragtime polka band
Who holds it all together, as she attempts to sing
The old rag doll, was somethin' in her day
No one knows quite what, but it’s enough to say
She had a slendor splendor and a sloppy song or two
People liked her misanthropy, some still do
Backstage in the dressing room, she traced the seams on her face
Picked the scabs, that she’d earned, falling from her grace
Falling from her grace, falling from her grace,
I’m a goner, she thought, a fly tied up in spiders lace
I’m as good as dead she said, with spider seams upon my head
Then along come a spider queen, and her spider movie team
She looked upon the rag doll, with sparkles in her eyes
Rag doll, you’re a beauty, with those spider lines
We would like to offer you, the lead roll in our ballyhoo
it’s a movie starring you, and your ragtime polka band
they will come and rescue you, since you can hardly stand
You’re all are invited to stay with me, in my spider castle
Where you all can live for free, though it may be cobwebby
That is how it all began, the rag doll with spider seams
The rag time polka band, the dazzling arachnid queen
The spider bally-hoo they say, is sure to win the golden globes
And the ragtime polka band, is headed for the Polka Grammies
Now the rag doll frames, her spider veins
For the ragdoll hall of fame
And sells the scabs she earned, falling from her grace
Falling from her grace, falling from her grace
